Description

5/21/18 - This is an all correct and matching K98, made in 1943 by the Czech factory - DOU.   Bolt and all numbered parts are matching and it has all original finish on the metal parts.   It is missing the front site hood and the cleaning rod.    The butt plate is not marked and has the typical rusting on the bottom as people tended to store these stacked with the butt end in the ground.   Under the handguard the stock is numbered to the gun as well.   I see no other readable markings on the stock.  Since there is no waffen stamp the stock may have been lightly sanded and re-varnished.   Still, a very nice looking example of a Nazi wartime K98.  Bore has strong rifling with no corrosion or pitting.
