Description
4/5/22 - This is a very nice example of a reworked DWM Luger. It is all matching and was initially sold in the commercial market in the 1920's, as evidenced by the "Crown N" commercial proofs. It has a "1920" government property marking on the chamber, indicating it was reworked and likely issued to the German police force. It also has a "P. Fr. 155" marking on the front strap, which we believe to be a unit marking for the Frankenstein police school. There is a "crossed-out" "P. N. 55" marking just above it. It comes with a matching arsenal-numbered magazine that has an "Eagle 6" Simson proof on it. The gun has retained about 94% of its bluing. There is wear on the side plate, side rails, and around the muzzle. A couple of small spots of wear on the right side of the barrel. There are areas of tiny pin-pricking in those areas of wear. Noticeable brown patina on both grip straps. Comes with slightly worn wood grips that are not matching to the gun - small chip in the top corner of the left panel. Excellent bore with strong rifling.Specifications
