SOLD - Scarce, Early 1910 DWM Luger Rig - Unit Marked (2557c - 20948)

Description

6/22/22 - This is a scarce, early DWM Luger from 1910 with a "13.T.L.12.10." military unit marking on the front strap. There were only 20,000 military produced DWM Lugers that year, and only about 20% of those are estimated to be unit marked. The majority of the unit-marked 1910 DWM Lugers went to the cavalry. This one has all matching numbers, including the original grips. It comes as a rig with a 1911-dated holster and an early wood bottom magazine that is mismatched to the gun. The leather of the holster is fairly dry and starting to crack is some areas. The name "Hoffman" is lightly scratched on the back. The gun itself has retained about 96% of its original finish. Very minor wear on the side plate, side rails, and around the muzzle. There is some light scratchy wear and a small dent on the front strap. While there is not much actual finish loss, there are tiny dots of oxidation throughout, most noticeable on the grip straps. The bore has good rifling with minor frosting in the grooves. No added hold-open.
