SOLD - Scarce, Early 1910 DWM Luger Rig - Unit Marked (1344d - 20952)

Description

6/22/22 - This is a scarce, early DWM Luger from 1910 with a "8.D.1.4." military unit marking on the front strap. There were only 20,000 military produced DWM Lugers that year, and only about 20% of those are estimated to be unit marked. The majority of the unit-marked 1910 DWM Lugers went to the cavalry, as is the case with this one. It has all matching numbers and comes as a rig with a 1910-dated holster and an early wood bottom magazine that is mismatched to the gun (small chip in the wood bottom). The holster is fairly worn with light scuffs throughout. The gun itself has retained about 97% of its original finish. Very minor wear on the side plate, side rails, and around the muzzle. There is some light scratchy wear on the grip straps and left side of the frame. Light freckling on the front strap. The bore has good rifling with minor frosting throughout. A hold-open was added.
