Description
8/24/22 - This is an excellent example of a very rare "Double Eagle" Sauer 38h issued to the Nazi military early during WW2. The is all matching and has the characteristic "Double Eagle 37" military acceptance proofs on the left side of the trigger guard. There were only about 1,000 of these guns made, and according to Jim Cate's Sauer Book, there are only about 50 known! This particular gun also comes as a rig with two period-correct magazines and a 1941-dated waffen-proofed holster (some light surface cracking in the leather along the top flap and closure strap). The gun itself has retained about 94% of its original high polish finish. Minor muzzle wear and some light spotty wear along both sides of the slide, concentrated mostly around the high edges. A few tiny scratches here and there. Some light brown patina and freckling on both grip straps. Comes with excellent period-correct black bakelite grips. Mint bore.Specifications
