SOLD - Rare 1914 Erfurt Artillery Luger Rig (1229a - 22110)

9/27/22 - This is a nice example of a rare Artillery Luger, made by Erfurt in 1914. Erfurt produced only 23,000 Artillery Lugers, all in 1914. This one is all matching and has the proper Imperial military proofs and Erfurt proofs throughout. It comes as a rig with an non-matching wood-bottom magazine and a 1917 dated Artillery holster. The holster is fairy worn - there is surface cracking in the closure strap, and a small tear in the flap of the cleaning rod pouch. The gun itself has retained about 94% of its original finish. Most of the wear is around the muzzle, but there is also minor spotty wear along the barrel and areas of minor finish loss on the high edges in general and on the side plate. While there isn't substantial finish loss, there is brown patina visible under the finish of much of the gun (most noticeable on the grip straps) and some areas of spotty oxidation (mostly along the barrel). A few tiny pits around the muzzle. Comes with matching-numbered wood grips. The rifling in the bore is a bit worn with minor pitting throughout.
