Description
11/9/22 - This is a very interesting Artillery-style DWM Luger. The gun itself started its life in about 1912 and was issued to the the Imperial German military, as evidenced by the Imperial proofs on the right side of the slide and military machine gun unit marking on the front strap. the gun has early features, such as no stock lug and no hold open originally (one was added later). The date on the chamber was removed. There are also British proofs, indicating it was captured by the British. Some time later the barrel was replaced with an 8" barrel. Interestingly enough, the new barrel is chambered in .30 Luger or 7.65mm. This must have been a special order barrel taken from a commercial gun. The barrel and rear sight are mismatched. The gun has retained only about half of its finish. There is significant finish loss on both grip straps and along the left side of the slide and barrel. There is also some lighter spotty wear along the right side of the slide. Areas of minor oxidation throughout and some tiny pits along the barrel. Comes with excellent mismatched grips and a WW2-era "Eagle 83" marked magazine. Mint bore.Specifications
