Description
1/17/22 - This is a very nice example of a St. Etienne Berthier MLE M16 rifle issued to the French military during WW1. It is all matching (including the wood stock) and has no import marks. It has retained about 95% of its bluing. Generally, there is very minor wear on the high edges. While there is very little actual finish loss, there is some splotchy discoloration along the barrel and some light brown patina on the magazine and trigger guard. There is no major damage to the wood, but there is minor bruising and scratching throughout. A small wood repair on the underside of the butt stock against the butt plate. Very nice bore with good rifling, but there is minor pin-pricking throughout. Comes with a canvas sling. There is some separation in the metal on the bayonet lug (see photo).Specifications
