Description

12/16/22 - This is a nice example of a Smith & Wesson Model 1917 Revolver issued to the US military during WW1. It is all matching, "United States Property" marked, and has the proper flaming bomb and "Eagle Head S4" military acceptance proofs. It has retained roughly 85% of its original high polish finish. There The majority of the finish loss is on the back strap and top strap. While there isn't a ton of actual finish loss, there are noticeable tiny scratches and dings covering virtually the whole gun. The case-hardening on the hammer and trigger is thin. Fitted with high quality reproduction wood grips. Minty bore. The lanyard loop is intact. The cylinder is tight, and the action is smooth.
