Description

4/24/23 - This is an excellent example of an early Spreewerk P.38 issued to the Nazi military in November of 1942. It has no letter suffix. It is all matching and has the proper "Eagle 88" military proofs. There is an asterisk marking on the barrel, indicating it failed initial inspection and was repaired at the factory - a desirable trait for collectors. It has retained about 96% of its original finish. There is minor thinning on the front strap and wear around the muzzle and on the high edges of the slide. There are some handling marks and scratches on the underside of the barrel and on the right side of the slide. Fitted with blackish-brown bakelite grips - the left grip panel is slightly worn on the bottom edge, and there is a name scratched into the bottom edge of the right grip panel. Very nice bore. De-cocker is functional.
