Description

5/10/23 - This is a very nice example of a Smith-Corona Model 03-A3 rifle issued to the US military in 1943-44. The barrel is "SC" marked and dated August of 1943. Very faint "FJA" military inspection stamp on the left side of the stock. The gun comes with a green canvas sling and a front sight hood. This is an arsenal-refurbished example. The metal parts have retained roughly 90% of their finish. There is general high edge wear, some spotty discoloration on the barrel bands, and areas of thinning on the floor plate / trigger group and on the bolt handle. Some light spotty oxidation and some small dots of surface rust on the bolt handle and around the rear sight. The wood furniture is excellent but has been sanded. Very nice bore with good rifling.
