Description

8/17/23 - This is a nice example of a Danzig Kar 98 issued to the Imperial German military in 1909. It is mostly matching with proper Imperial proofs throughout. The butt plate and the small sliding piece of the rear sight are mismatched. The metal parts have lost virtually all of their finish with light brown patina and pin-pricking throughout. Spotty oxidation and minor pitting on the butt plate. Nice wood furniture with the typical signs of wear. The stock is numbered and matching to the gun. The bore is mostly shiny with good rifling, but there are some spots of minor pitting here and there.
