Description

11/7/23 - This is a nice example of a Colt Model 1895 double action revolver issued to the US Navy in 1902. The butt is marked U.S.N. over the Navy Anchor. Beneath this is the caliber designation ".38 D.A." and the "Triangle-B" civilian inspection marking and the initials "J.A.B." (both belonging to John A. Bell). "Star" acceptance markings throughout. We believe this gun has an old re-blued finish. There is minor muzzle wear, high edge wear in general, noticeable brown patina on the grip straps, and spotty discoloration on the top strap. Some minor pin-pricking here and there. Fitted with hard rubber grips - a couple of small chips on the bottom edge of the left panel. The bore is shiny with strong rifling, but there is very light freckling throughout. The cylinder release lever is a little stiff and tends to "stick".
