Description
7/31/23 - Between 1926 and May of 1940, nearly 60,000 FN Browning M1922 pistols were shipped to the Netherlands and designated Pistool M25 No.2 by the Koninklijke Landmacht. These pistols feature a large Crown/W proof on the slide for Queen Wilhelmina. While 60,000 would suggest a somewhat common pistol, the survival rate on these is relatively low as we only receive one or two per year. This one is all matching and has the proper Dutch "Crown W" proof on the tang. It has retained about 90% of its original finish. The majority of the wear is around the muzzle, on some of the high edges, and in an area on the right side of the slide. While there isn't much actual finish loss, there is spotty brown patina and oxidation throughout. Small areas of minor pitting on the right side of the slide and on the front strap. Fitted with period-correct horn grips - small bore hole on the right side. Comes with one period-correct numbered Dutch-contract magazine, but it does not match. The lanyard loop on the frame has been removed. The bore has great rifling, but there is some fouling in the grooves.Specifications
