Description

10/3/23 - This is a nice example of a Springfield Krag Model 1896 from 1897. It is an antique. There is no visible military cartouche on the stock. The metal parts have lost most of their original finish with spotty brown patina throughout. Pin-pricking along the barrel. There is splotchy discoloration on both sides of the receiver and some pitting on the left side. Nice wood furniture with only minor scratches and dings. The bore has decent rifling, but there is pin-pricking throughout. The front sight blade has been replaced.
