Description
4/8/24 - This is a rare Remington UMC 1911. Of the three manufacturers of accepted U.S. Military 1911 pistols, the Remington-UMC is the least common with only ~21,000 produced. This pistol is a first-year Remington UMC production (1918), with proper E.E.C. inspectors marking on the left side of the frame. Major Edmond E. Chapman was responsible for the entire Rem-UMC production. Below his mark is an Eagle/1 proof. The slide is marked with the 'E' above the firing pin stop. Barrel chamber is marked with a single "P", which is correct for Remington-UMC production. This particular gun has lost virtually all of its original finish with spotty oxidation throughout and some small spots of minor pitting. Fitted with period-correct wood grips and comes with one magazine. The bore has good rifling with some minor pitting in the grooves.Specifications
