Description
11/20/24 - This is a very rare Colt Government Model 1911A1 manufactured in 1940 under contract with Brazil. About 14,500 made. The right side of the slide is marked "Exercito Brasileiro 1940". Eventually the country of Brazil adopted the Model 1911A1 as their standard pistol, and started producing them at the State/Military run IMBEL factory. These pistols conform in all respects to the standard military models manufactured during this time, except they lack the U.S. military proof and acceptance marks. The finish on this pistol is a restoration, and in very good condition overall. Mint wood grips. Comes with one proper magazine. The bore has good rifling with light pin-pricking throughout.Specifications
