SOLD - Rare Springfield Armory M1911 (106790 - 34551 - RJ)

12/13/24 - This is a rare military 1911, made at Springfield Armory. Issued to the US military during WWI. One of only ~30k produced at Springfield for WW1. The left side of the frame is "United States Property" marked. It also has flaming bomb military proofs on the left side of the slide and frame and the iconic Springfield eagle on the right side of the slide. All of the parts (down to all of the small parts) are "S" marked. It has a Springfield barrel. However, it is a later field replacement "S P" barrel. The gun has lost nearly all of its finish with light spotty discoloration throughout. There is a noticeable ding in the metal on the top of the slide and a series of linear dents on the right side of the slide. Fitted with period-correct wood grips that are fairly worn with hairline cracks on both sides. It comes with a lanyard loop magazine that seems to have a brassy repair at the top of the spine. Excellent bore with great rifling.
