Description
3/7/26 - This is a beautiful, near-mint example of a rare variation of the Ithaca Model 1911A1 from 1943. This one is stamped "M 1911 A1 US Army" on the right side of both the slide and frame. There are also matching flaming bomb ordnance inspection stamps on the inside of the frame and on the slide (under the firing pin retainer), indicating this gun is an original and correct example of this rare variation. Proper "HS" High Standard barrel. It has retained nearly about 98% of its original finish with just hints of high edge wear, a few very light surface marks here and there, and a small area of very light scuffing on the left side of the slide. Fitted with correct reddish plastic grips and comes with one "L" marked magazine. Excellent bore with great rifling. According to Page 109 of Edward Scott Meadows' "US Military Automatic Pistols: Volume II / 1920-1945" Book, this gun is in the proper serial range for this rare variation, 1208674 - 1279673.
