Description

4/10/25 - This is an excellent example of a Belgian New Model Type II pocket pistol from the 1920's. Chambered in 6.35mm. All matching with the proper Belgian proofs. It comes as a rig with one proper magazine and a small period-correct leather holster. It also comes with the original copy of the WW2 capture paperwork that lists this gun by serial number and names the American GI who captured it, Private First Class John R. Melvin. Our consignor did research on this GI and found some information that is included in the photos. You will see John's Registration Card, his Enlistment Record, a newspaper clipping about John, a photo of his head stone, and a company history record of the 3011 Quatermaster Bakery Co. Mobile (with whom John served). The gun's original finish rates about 96-97% with just minor high edge wear, muzzle wear, and some small dots of light oxidation here and there. Fitted with period-correct horn grips. The bore has great rifling, but there is some light frosting in the grooves.
