Description
5/19/20 - This is one of the best examples of an early Mauser C96 Austrian Imperial contract rigs, made in 1916, and so marked on the chamber and the stock. This very uncommon gun retains around 94-95% of its original blue, with high edge wear and wear under the barrel from being stored in its matching shoulder stock. Austrian contract guns were taken directly from the Imperial German contract, and as a result, have a German acceptance stamp on the right chamber and on the shoulder stock. In addition, an Austrian Imperial proof, consisting of 'W.n.', an Imperial Eagle and the date were struck on the right diagonal flat over the chamber. Same proof was repeated on the lid of the shoulder stock. The gun is all matching and has an excellent bore and grips and generous amounts of fire blue on the small parts. Matching shoulder stock is equally nice with no cracks and an Austrian and German acceptance marks present. Just a great, all original set, that is very difficult to find in such outstanding condition.Specifications
