Description
2/23/22 - This is an interest Colt Officers Model revolver 1937 in its original box, and comes with letter of provenance stating it was bought from the wife of WWII Army Colonel and later Brigadier General Harry Disston. Disston was the executive commander of the 107th Infantry, and later served as the executive officer of the 116th Infantry, 29th Division. He was a D-Day participant, and wounded during the landing. He later was transferred to the Pacific Theatre and later stated that he was the first American to ride Japanese Emperor Hirohito's white horse. The gun itself is all original with about 97% of the blue remaining. Minor muzzle and cylinder wear, and a little oxidation on the right side of the frame. Presumably, this was a gun that Disston bought privately but it still comes with the original Colt box, as well as the bolt and holster that Disston carried it in. Minty bore and good mechanics.Specifications
