Description
10/31/23 - This is a clean example of a Sharps rifle produced during the US Civil War. The rifle is chambered in .52 caliber and was one of the earlier breech-loading rifles produced in large quantities for the US Army. The rifle has little left of its original bluing and has a nice layer of patina. The stock has no major damage but has some chips missing towards the buttplate/toe of the stock. The action functions properly and the hammer locks and releases smoothly. The bore is very dark with visible rifling but has spots of corrosion. The rifle is missing its sling swivels and the stock trapdoor works properly.Specifications
