09/29/26 - For sale is a Springfield Model 1873 Trapdoor rifle made in 1884 chambered in .45-70 Gov't. The rifle is in great shape for its age. The metal is turning a dull grey from oxidation and age. There are areas like near the muzzle and the barrel shank, that have signs of old surface rust. Also a scuff on the barrel in front of the rear barrel band. The stock is in great shape without any cracks or breaks. The left side is stamped "SWP 1884". The bore is bright with good rifling. The surface is slightly darkening towards the muzzle. The action functions properly.
