Description

12/16/22 - This is a nice example of a commercial Colt Government Model 1911 with Colt archive letter included. It has 85+% of the original blue remaining, but shows nicely in hand. Most of the wear and patina is on the rounded areas of the slide, and some more finish loss on the front strap. Commercial barrel with just a 'c' under the lug, and a terrific bore. Beautiful wood grips with sharp checkering. Early two-tone mag with lanyard ring. The Colt archive letter states the gun was shipped in February of 1917 to a hardware store in Chicago.
