SOLD - dot G33/40 Mountain Carbine - 1941 mfg

08/06/2024 - For sale is a German G33/40 Mountain Carbine made by Waffenfabrik Brunn (BRNO) in 1941. The mountain carbine is based on the Vz.33 carbine that was used by the army, Gendemerie, and Border security.

This example is in good condition overall but we believe this is not an original G33/40. The stock and buttplate are correct to the carbine, but the receiver and bolt look to be from a different Mauser rifle. The receiver has been sanitized of most markings and re-stamped. Compared to another 1941 example, the font is too thin on the "dot", "G.33/40", and the serial number. The bolt also has numerous grinding marks and the hollowed out bolt knob is crudely done. The serial number on the stock we believe is also restamped. There are many spots of cold blue touchups on the receiver and bolt. The front barrel band was originally for a k98k and modified to fit the G33/40. The cleaning rod does not stay secured. The bore is fairly bright but is darker in the grooves.
