11/25/24 - For sale is a Berthier MLE 16 carbine built using a 1907-15 receiver. Around mid-1917, France prioritized the production of carbines over infantry-length rifles in and would use receivers marked "1907-15" in the updated MLE 16 carbines. This carbine is in good condition overall with plenty of wear throughout. The receiver has a dark finish with minor scratches to the finish and finish loss towards the rear of the receiver. The buttplate is oxidized and has old surface rust. The stock is structurally sound with no cracks or breaks. The bore is bright but slightly foggy with minor pitting visible in the grooves. This example has mismatched serial numbers throughout and is missing its handguard.
