Description
12/6/24 - For sale is a French Berthier MLE 16 carbine made towards the end of WW1. The carbine is in nice condition overall with the metal retaining the bulk of its original bluing. There is some finish loss on the receiver and muzzle. There is minor pitting visible on the wood line on the receiver. Stock is in nice condition but there is a crack coming from the back of the tang. The carbine has matching numbers throughout but the magazine floor has the serial number overstamped smaller numbers but they look to be the same digits. The bore is fairly bright with good rifling but there looks to be some pitting about 1.5" from the muzzle in the grooves. The carbine was rebarreled in 1933 and was reworked during the interwar period and the sights look to be the 1920A type.Specifications
