Description
8/28/26 - This is an excellent Colt Model 1911A1, manufactured in 1943, that was supplied to the United Kingdom under the World War II Lend-Lease Program. The right side of the frame correctly bears the "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" rollmark and the Ordnance Department crossed-cannons cartouche. The frame, slide, and barrel feature proper British commercial proof stamps and inspection marks applied upon release from British Crown service. The pistol features its original matching-numbered slide, and a scarce Colt barrel correctly marked with a large "G" beneath the link lug. The original finish rates at about 95%, with scattered areas of barely visible surface patina throughout, some mild muzzle and high-edge wear, and a faint takedown scratch beneath the slide stop. It features an excellent set of original Coltwood checkered plastic grips. The bore is mirror bright with razor sharp rifling. Comes with one correct wartime "C-R" (Colt / Risdon contract) magazine.
