05/29/2024 - For sale is a Swedish M96/38 Mauser chambered in 6.5x55 made at the Carl Gustafs Arsenal in 1902. This rifle originally was a M1896 long rifle but was converted to short rifle length alongside production of the M38 Mauser. This rifle is clean and an overall condition of 97% with some wear on the receiver and barrel. The rifle is nearly matching with the rear sight being mismatched. The rear sight was replaced with the target style micrometer sights popular with Swedish target shooters. The bore is dark on the rifle but rifling is visible when shining a light through. The rifle comes with a M1896 Bayonet and frog.
