9/25/2023 - This is an excellent condition Zero series Type 44 Arisaka Cavalry Carbine that was made before WW2. The carbine comes with capture papers that matches the recipient on the box, but wrong model name is written. The rifle is chambered in 6.5x50 Semi-rimmed cartridge and features a fold out bayonet. The finish of the receiver is in excellent condition with bluing worn on the edges and the left side. The Royal Chrysanthemum has been ground away. The receiver is marked "4 4 Type" with the serial number and Koishikawa Arsenal Mark. The rest of the metal is in good condition with spots of finish loss throughout. The bore is filled with Cosmoline but rifling is good where seen. The stock is also in good condition with dings and handling marks throughout. Above the magazine on the left side of the stock has a hard ding on it. About one inch of the front of the hand guard is also missing. The cleaning rod is missing in the trapdoor. The bolt is not matching to the rifle, but the rifle has matching assembly numbers otherwiser. The carbine comes with a box made by a GI to ship back from the war.Specifications
