Description
5/28/24 - This is a WW2 German Red Cross Medical Hewer. The dagger features a bright blade that's in excellent condition. Also comes with an original scabbard and leather frog. The blade has some light scabbard rub wear throughout as well as a few small areas of speckling patina and light surface oxidation. Clean, unsharpened edge with a sawback style spine. The base of the blade is marked "Ges. Geschutzt" on the reverse. NO other maker markings or stamps. The original leather stopper is still intact and in great shape. The handle is original with a diamond pattern on the front and smooth "slab side" on the back panel. Natural patina throughout the hand guard and pommel. Great detail on the Red Cross Eagle logo. The scabbard has paint chipping and dark patina, especially on the backside as shown in photos. The paint is still flaking slightly in some areas so handle with care. The leather frog is excellent and unmarked.Specifications
