Description
9/10/25- For sale is a very nice non-standard M1850 US Army Foot Officer's sword. Different manufacturers used different patterns and blade suppliers but the sword matches known original examples. Beautiful blade, very shiny with very visible etchings on both sides. On one side, large letters "U.S.", on the other side, an eagle carrying a banner that says "E Pluribus Unum". Blade has a stamp for "PROVED" and a manufacturer stamp from Horster in Solingen, Germany. Handguard has an eagle and large letters "US". Blade is overall in good condition, limited discoloration that does not obscure the etchings. Handguard in good condition, no major scrapes but brass has discolored over time. Scabbard is in good condition, minor wear and discoloration but no serious scrapes or damage. Overall very good condition.
