M40 Single Decal Luftwaffe Helmet

7/14/25 - This is a good example of a M40 German Luftwaffe helmet from WWII. The paint is an apple-green with the decal on the left side clearly visible. The metal of the helmet as well as the paint is scratched with some freckles of patina on the outer dome. The metal on the interior of the helmet is likely freckled with patina around the brim. The inner done has some oxidization throughout. The leather of the helmet is wrapped around a steel inner band. The interior leather is soft but about half of the helmet has become detached from the band. The leather chin strap is in-tact as is the buckle and is still soft and somewhat malleable. Helmet was made by Quist, size 60, lot #147.
