SOLD - Austrian Mauser C96 Rig - Unit Marked

12/3/21 - This is an original Mauser C96 rig that was part of an Austrian military contract in 1917. The pistol has matching numbers throughout, including the original grips. The finish is original but thinning throughout, and rates at maybe 60%. The small parts still have some of the original fire blue present. The bore has pronounced rifling but notably frosted and freckled throughout. The pistol is unit marked on the frame (FR1 / 5), and the stock is also unit marked on the lid (DR1 / 102). So the stock is a correct example but not matching/original to the pistol. It's serialized and mismatched on the locking mechanism. The unit mark (FR) likely means "Fliegerregiment", indicating it went to an aircraft regiment. It also has a couple of notable cracks that were partially repaired. The listing also includes a leather harness that is original/correct style for this contract.
