Description
12/23/24 - For sale is a Type 99 Arisaka made by Nagoya & Type 95 NCO Gunto that was brought back by a sailor onboard the USS Leon. The rifle is in nice condition overall but has finish loss on the receiver and spotting of oxidation. The rifle has the full untouched Mum. The stock is in good condition but there is "104L500X654" scratched into the left side of the rifle, and a hole was drilled behind the rear sling swivel to imitate a rope hole sling mount. The rifle is bolt mismatched and someone had ground off the old number and restamped it on the bolt body and extractor. The bore is bright with good rifling. The rifle comes with a Capture document from aboard the USS Leon dated October 10th of 1945 matched to the rifle by serial number. There is also a write up of the USS Leon from the Division of Naval History. The rifle also comes with a Type 30 bayonet, scabbard, and frog made by Nagoya.
The Type 95 sword is a factory-made Japanese NCO sword from WW2. There are a few tiny chips on the edge of the blade and some tiny dots of discoloration along the blade. The blade shows no signs of being sharpened. The scabbard maintains most of its original paint, but does have chips and oxidation in the painted finish throughout . Both the sword and the scabbard are numbers matching with the serial number "106747". The same "104L500X654" is scratched onto the blade.
A Samoan Supi and a blade with tribal engravings are also included. The Supi has some art scratched into it with "Guadalcanal July-144" scratched onto the side. The blade has elaborate art on the scabbard and handle. The blade is not sharpened.
