Description
8/8/18 - This is a very rare US PROPERTY marked Colt 1908 Pocket Hammerless pistol in .380 caliber. There were only about 3,000 of this variation produced, with blued finish and US PROPERTY marking. This pistol is US Property marked and ordnance wheel stamped (back left side of frame) and is all correct and original. The original finish is thin but still covers about 80-85% of the gun. It has the correct wood grips and magazine. The bore is shiny and strong. The gun was manufactured and issued in 1943, most likely to an officer. These pistols were primarily issued to personnel of the Bureau of Naval Intelligence and to General Officers of the US Army, but some were sent to the OSS as well as special duty personnel who required a concealable sidearm. Comes with a Colt factory letter.
