Description

12/6/24 - This is the finest example we've offered of an original, U.S. Military Winchester Model 97 riot shotgun. Production totals on original and correct riot examples is actually far lower than that of the trench configuration, though the trench This is a fairly late example of a correct riot configuration, but shows no signs of being converted from trench configuration (sight bead moved, heat shield removed, etc). Barrel is dated '42 on the underside. Proper U.S. martial mark with flaming bomb on left side of receiver. 20in barrel with 'cyl' marking and flaming bomb. Exceptional original bluing, with only minor wear you'd expect to see on the mag tube from the slide action. Crisp G.H.D. inspectors mark over ordnance wheel cartouche is visible on the left side stock. Mint bore, looks nearly unused. Smooth action.
