Description
1/7/21 - This is a rare Smith & Wesson No. 3 New Model revolver, chambered in .44 Russian. It was manufactured in 1877 as a part of their contract with the Russians. It was then purchased by the Japanese Navy, as indicated by the anchor on the underside of the frame. Some of these revolvers were used by the Japanese in WW2 and captured by the Americans. This one is in nice condition. It has some of its original bluing, but it is generally covered in spotty brown patina. It is fully functional and the action is smooth. It has wood grips that are worn and have initials carved in them. The original lanyard loop is still in tact. The bore is excellent - shiny with strong rifling. This is an antique, so no FFL required.Specifications
