SOLD - Springfield Armory 1911 - 1915 Mfg (119415 - 19212)

2/24/22 - This is a fair example of a rare Springfield Armory Model 1911 issued to the US military in 1915. Estimated production is about 30,000 overall, with 14,000 of those produced in 1915. This one is mostly correct and has the proper Springfield barrel. The frame, slide, barrel, slide stop, mainspring housing, safety, hammer and trigger are all Springfield parts, with 'S' marks on the small parts. Parts like the barrel bushing and recoil spring guide appear to be replacements. The frame is marked "United States Property", the slide and frame have military flaming bomb proofs, and the right side of the slide has the appropriate Springfield Eagle logo. The gun has retained roughly 30% of its original finish with visible bluing loss all over, and some corrosion on the mainspring housing. Barrel has fairly worn rifling with some pitting throughout. The grips are original but the right panel has a visible crack at the bottom and the lower grip screw is stripped, so we did not remove that panel. It's possible the crack would separate more if you did.
