Description

8/2/22 - This is a hard-to-find Springfield contract 1911. There were only about 30,000 of these made and few are found in such nice condition. Nearly all of the parts are properly marked with an "S" proof stamp (S marked parts are shown in the photos). It has the correct early Springfield grips with 11 checkers between the diamonds. It has the correct barrel (S marked) with a very nice bore. It has the correct early magazine with the fold over metal base. The gun was made in 1915. The original finish rates at about 85% with a very nice profile but the majority of the finish loss on the mainspring housing. There's also some wear around the muzzle and a little bit of oxidation on the slide.
