Description

8/18/25 - This is a hard to find Springfield contract 1911. There were only about 30,000 of these made and few are found in such nice condition with all original parts. All of the parts are properly marked with an "S" proof stamp including all of the small parts. It has the correct barrel (S marked). It has the correct early magazine with the fold over metal base and brass reinforcement at the top of the spine. The gun was made in 1916. The original finish rates roughly 65% with honest wear and spotty brown patina throughout. There is a repaired hairline crack on the right grip panel. The bore shows noticeable pitting throughout.
