Description
7/16/25 - This is a rare military 1911, made at Springfield Armory. Issued to the US military during WWI. One of only ~30k produced at Springfield for WW1. The left side of the frame is "United States Property" marked. It also has flaming bomb military proofs on the left side of the slide and frame and the iconic Springfield eagle on the right side of the slide. All of the parts (down to all of the small parts) are "S" marked, except for the hammer and barrel bushing where we do not see any "S" stamp. However, all parts show the same amount of wear and sign of age. Correct Springfield barrel. The gun's original finish rates roughly 70%. There is brown patina throughout and spotty oxidation with pits, mostly on the right side of the gun. Fitted with really nice period-correct wood grips and comes with a correct Springfield lanyard loop magazine with the characteristic brass reinforcement at the top of the spine. Excellent bore with strong rifling.
