08/02/2024 - For sale is a Chinese Type 53 rifle made by Factory 26 of China. This is one of the rifles provided as aid from Communist China to the Communist forces of North Vietnam and the Vietcong. This rifle is in good condition overall surviving the jungles of Vietnam. The metal retains plenty of its original bluing but a lot of oxidation spots and minor prickling of pitting are visible. The magazine also has many spots of finish loss. The stock is in great condition overall with no cracks or breaks. The rifle is missing its cleaning rod. The bore is dark with the rifling slightly visible when shining a light. The buttplate is missing one of its screws.
This carbine comes with the war trophy capture paperwork. Stapled together are two copies of DD 603 form for Registration of War Tropy Firearms, DD 603-1 Authorization form, and a temporary export form. The paperwork for the DD 603 is dated October of 1970, the soldier's name, make and serial number of the rifle, and the signature of the executing officer. The temporary export form is dated July of 1970. There is also another form from the Dept of the Army that is a Firearms Export License dated April 15th, 1971 that is from Saigon. This form is an export form from the South Vietnamese Government.¬
