Description
3/10/23 - This is an original WW2 trench shotgun made in 1942. It has matching numbers, and a bright shiny bore. The wood is in good shape with no cracks, but does have several dings and small chips. Early WB inspector marking with crossed cannons cartouche, and the barrel has the flaming bomb present. The action works perfectly. Nice, original bluing throughout. There is finish loss on many of the edges, and some small patches of freckling on the receiver. Other correct characteristics for a model 97 include the bayo lug sitting back from the muzzle, 20in barrel with 'cyl' marking, two sets of holes on mag tube, receiver is martially marked, proper serial range, stock inletted for sling swivel. This is also a 1942 example so a six-row heatshield is correct.Specifications
