Description

06/18/2024 - For sale is a scarce Hall-North M1843 Carbine made in 1851 and used during the Civil War. The Hall breech loading system was ahead of its time being invented in 1811. This carbine was used by the Dragoons of the US Cavalry through the Mexican American War and the Civil War. This carbine is in great shape for being 173 years old. The metal has plenty of patina and spots of old oxidation but there is no active pitting or rust. The stock is in similar condition seeing hard use but does not have any major damage, but there is a small crack at the toe of the stock. The bore is dark but is typical of old black powder rifles.
