3/5/26- For sale is a very nice, rare production matching K-date K98 bayonet. German arms production used letter codes to hide the fact that they were violating the Treaty of Versailles in the early years of the Nazi regime, and the "K" date code indicates manufacture in 1934. The blade is darkly blued with minimal wear and no signs of damage. The blade has some grease on it that can be easily cleaned off. The base of the blade is marked "S/155K" and "9084f". S/155K indicates manufacture by Horster in 1934. There is some light scratching to the handle but no deep scrapes or cracking. The scabbard has light wear but no serious damage and only light finish loss. The scabbard is also marked "S/155K" and "9084f", matched to the bayonet. Overall in excellent condition and a rare early production bayonet!
