Description

10/8/20 - This is a nice example of an antique Springfield Model 1896 "Krag" bolt action rifle, manufactured in 1897. The gun is fully functional and the action is buttery-smooth. The metal parts have lost most of their finish and there is spotty oxidation/discoloration throughout. The receiver still has some its original bluing. The wood stock is excellent and has the inspector's initials on the left side. Small repair on top near the receiver. The bore is excellent - shiny with strong rifling. It comes with a period-correct sling.
