11/3/26 - Offered here is a US M1 helmet with its 1957 dated liner, named to a lieutenant of the 890th Engineer Battalion. The steel shell has swivel chinstrap bails and its khaki web chinstraps. The liner is marked inside with the CAPAC maker's mark and a 1957 date, and carries an embossed label reading "LT NATION CO D 890 ENG BN." It retains its suspension, leather sweatband and leather nape strap. The condition is very nice overall. The paint on the shell is mostly intact, with honest scratches, scuffing and light wear throughout, and some paint loss along the rim. The web chinstraps are in good shape. The liner finish is good, with a few small paint chips on the outside. The suspension webbing is intact but shows some fraying at the edges, and the leather sweatband shows light wear.
