Description
11/3/26 - For sale is a WWII Imperial Japanese Army Type 90 combat helmet. The Type 90 was adopted in 1930 (the year 2590 on the Japanese imperial calendar, which gives the helmet its name) and remained the standard Japanese Army helmet throughout the war in China and the Pacific. The pressed steel shell has the distinctive rounded profile and flared brim, with the front rivet where the Army star insignia was mounted and remnants of yellow paint around it. The helmet retains its original leather liner pads, which carry a handwritten ink inscription in Japanese, along with the original cloth chin ties. The helmet is in fair condition overall, with areas of paint loss and surface rust over the original brown paint. A genuine, field-worn Type 90 with its original liner and ties.
